What SynapseR does at each phase of your study.
SynapseR is structured around the four phases of a clinical study. Each phase is a distinct piece of the platform with its own set of capabilities. The Plan phase is live today; the rest are being built in order.
Plan
Live nowPlan is where a clinical question becomes a study. SynapseR walks you through:
- Hypothesis formation with AI-guided PICO / PECO extraction from your research question
- Multi-stage literature search across PubMed with paper-level relevance scoring against your population, intervention, and design
- Endpoint definition with type, domain, instrument, timepoint, and rationale traceable back to your introduction
- R-powered sample size and power analysis using purpose-built scripts for continuous, binary, prevalence, and association designs
- Methods drafting bound to CONSORT for RCTs and STROBE for cross-sectional studies
- Statistical Analysis Plan with estimand, missingness strategy, sensitivity analyses, subgroup specifications, and SHA-256 hash-locking for preregistration
- Pre-results protocol assembly into a clean IMRAD draft
Every artefact is versioned. Every key claim in the draft links back to a paper in your project library.
Prepare
Building nextPrepare is where the study moves from paper to ready-to-run. Planned capabilities:
- Case Report Form (CRF) auto-generated from your locked endpoints
- Participant Information Leaflet rewritten by SynapseR into patient-friendly language while preserving the methodological detail
- Informed consent form templated for your study design and jurisdiction
- Randomisation plan: block, stratified, or simple randomisation, computed in R
- Trial registry submission preparation (ClinicalTrials.gov, EU CTR, ISRCTN as applicable)
Prepare is targeted at clinician-led research that needs ethics submission and site readiness without a full CRO.
Execute
PlannedExecute is where the study runs. Planned capabilities:
- Live data collection on the CRF you designed in Prepare, integrated with SynapseCPT
- Screening logs and enrolment tracking
- Visit scheduling
- Adverse event capture and reporting
- Site monitoring dashboards
The data layer connects forward to the Publish phase so analysis can run on the actual captured dataset rather than a separate export.
Publish
PlannedPublish is where data becomes evidence. Planned capabilities:
- Locked SAP runs automatically against the captured dataset, with deviations from the pre-specified plan surfaced explicitly
- CONSORT flow diagram (where applicable)
- Table 1, results section drafted from the actual numbers
- Discussion section grounded in the project's evidence library, with claim-to-paper traceability preserved
- Reference list formatted for the target journal
- Manuscript IMRAD assembly
- Registry results posting
Together, the four phases turn a clinical question into a manuscript that can be defended at every step — from the first PICO to the final figure.
